New Dexter Daze Commemorative
The idea for "Dexter in the Mitten" came many years ago when local artist, Katherine Larson, visited Dexter for the first time. "The village reminded me of a miniature train table. The wide, curved Main Street, clock tower and gazebo in the park invites visitors to stop and see what might happen; perhaps a marching band could come down the street at any moment." Done in a bright, illustrative style, "Dexter in the Mitten" contains surprising detail. Homes, landmarks and businesses are recognizable including Dexter Mill, Cider Mill, Main Street shops and the Dexter Bakery, Jenny's Farm Market, A&W, Terry B's, the museum, the library, Farmer's Market, Gordon Hall and much more. The poster also includes many Michigan landmarks from the "sleeping bear" to Jiffy Mix. The poster measures 16 x 20 inches and will be for sale exclusively at the Dexter Daze information booth. The artist is also offering 30 limited edition full-size prints of 23 x 28 at her booth during Dexter Daze. The artist is best known for her many paintings that have appeared on the covers of the "Ann Arbor Observer." She is also the illustrator of the well-known poster: "Ann Arbor and the Rest of the World."
